Desktop downloads
Download Knotic.
Choose your macOS or Windows build. Because Knotic is in beta, both installers are currently unsigned and may require one extra approval step before first launch.
Beta notice
macOS and Windows will warn about these installers.
That warning is expected for the current private beta. Download Knotic only from this page or directly from the Knotic team, then follow the platform-specific steps below to approve the app on first run.

macOS setup
Approve the beta build in Gatekeeper
The current macOS beta installer is not code signed yet, so Gatekeeper can block Knotic the first time you launch it.
- 1Download the DMG, open it, and move Knotic into Applications.
- 2Launch Knotic once from Applications, then close the developer verification warning.
- 3Open System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll to the security section, and click Open Anyway for Knotic.
- 4Launch Knotic again and confirm Open when macOS asks one more time.
Still blocked? Use Terminal to remove the quarantine flag before mounting the DMG:
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /path/to/file.dmgIf Gatekeeper still blocks the app, Control-click Knotic in Applications, choose Open, and confirm Open from that dialog.
Windows setup
Bypass SmartScreen for the unsigned installer
Windows Defender SmartScreen can flag the installer because this beta executable does not have code-signing reputation yet.
- 1Download the installer from this page and confirm the download if your browser asks for verification.
- 2Run the installer. When Windows shows the 'Windows protected your PC' prompt, click More info.
- 3Click Run anyway to continue, then accept the User Account Control prompt if Windows asks.
- 4Finish the install and launch Knotic from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.
Only bypass SmartScreen for installers downloaded from knotic.dev or shared directly by the Knotic team.
